Halloween

Adrie's Firsts

Yesterday Adrie took her first step. It was very bitter sweet cuz I wish Ryan could've been there to see it. It won't be long before she's running all over the house. She also got her first haircut today, by McKenzie. Thank goodness I walked in before any real damage was done! If you look closely you can see where it was cut, but no big bald spots or anything. I knew this day would come, I just didn't think so soon. Needless to say, the scissors are out of reach!

Sleeping Beauties

Since Ryan's been gone, the girls have ended up sleeping with me. They of course sprawl out on my side of the bed while Ryan's side stays nice and empty. Sometimes it's hard to get some sleep, but other times, it's nice to have the company!

Since Ryan is gone for so long, I've taken videos of the girls so he isn't completely missing out on what they're doing. These will probably be boring for most of our visitors, but I'm sure Ryan will appreciate them very much!

After church on Sunday I was so frazzled that I DID NOT care what my children were wearing. I literally grabbed the first thing in Adrie's drawers and put them on her. I didn't even care about the brown, knee-high boy socks that must be hand-me-downs from Quinn. I also let McKenzie pick out her outfit which consisted of pajama pants and a pink floral shirt that's was on backwards. If I didn't know better, I would think these kids didn't have a mother!

Western Day at School

McKenzie had so much fun making a "Cowboy Hat" for Western day at school. She got to decorate it herself and wore it forever when we got home. What a cute cowgirl! (or horse girl as she calls herself)

9 Months!

It's hard to believe that time has flown by so fast and that our baby is already 9 months. She has already grown WAY too fast! We have been so grateful to have her in our home and I feel so lucky to have not one sweet girl, but 2. She brings us so much happiness and we look forward to seeing her grow in the next 9 months. We love you Adrie!

Aunt Nicole comes to Visit

We were so happy that Nicole got to come visit us the first part of August. We all went to eat at Chipolte, YUMMY! We had so much fun talking and laughing with her. McKenzie loved having her Aunt Cole around again. We also had the privilege of meeting Nicole's boyfriend Daverooney. (Dave Sisson) We miss you tons, but we're glad you're doing so AMAZING in NY.

WHAT IS UP...

So it's been FOREVER since I've made an entry so I need to tell everyone what is up with us. There have been a ton of things going on since my last post! First and foremost, we finally moved July 24th to a duplex in Holladay. We live in a GREAT neighborhood and are loving the yard and all the space in our new house. When we moved from Murray, I was kind of sad cuz we were located so close to everything, but I think our location now is even better. The church is directly across the street which is WONDERFUL for me! Adrie sometimes falls asleep during sunday school so I can just run her home and put her in her crib before I go get McKenzie for Sacrament meeting. We also have a library just down the street. One of my favorite stores (Walgreens) is just a couple blocks away. The best part is that McKenzie's school is really close too so I can put Adrie in the stroller and we can walk there.
That leads me into our next big change, McKenzie started preschool. I know every parent says this, but I really can't believe my baby is already in school. She loves it SOOO much. When she got home from the first day of school, she had only been home about an hour before she said, "I miss school, I want to go back to school." I only hope her love for school continues!
The big news with Miss Adrie is that she got her first two teeth and is ALL over the house! Not only is she crawling all over the place, she also pulls herself up on the furniture and walks all around them. She has also started letting go of the furniture and standing on her own for a few seconds before she falls on her bum. She's going to be walking in no time. It will be interesting to see if she beats McKenzie's record of 10 months.
The biggest news of all in our family though is that Ryan left on the 21st to go to Florida for a 7 week course for the Navy. That Sunday was really hard for me because the thought of being away from him for that long was unbearable. I even had to call my Uncle Chris and Aunt Makaria so I could go hang out at their house that day. I've actually done pretty well on my own considering the fact that I don't usually do well alone. I've prayed for help quite a bit and definitely believe that Heavenly Father is watching out for me. He has even helped me be much more patient than usual. I think this time will be good for us all in a lot of ways. I know I've already appreciating Ryan even more than before. You don't quite realize how much your spouse does for you until they're not there anymore. I also think I'll be able to gain more confidence in my abilities as a wife, mother, but more importantly an individual. (I will still be counting down the days until he gets home though!) WE LOVE AND MISS YOU HONEY!

3 Years Old!!

Yesterday was McKenzie's 3rd birthday and it's hard to believe how fast the last 3 years have gone! It wasn't the greatest birthday ever so thank goodness she has many more to come. Her and Adrie had a doctors appt and lucky for Kenzie, she didn't have to get a shot. YEAH! What a great birthday present.
Then we went and bought about ten books at the DI, the best book store EVER! After getting books, we went to the park and gave her a new reading chair (mini camp chair) and another book. We sat and read in the shade while Ryan took Keta to the off-leash area. Kenzie also went to the swings and slides every 5 minutes or so. We then took her to Jungle Jim's (a VERY small version of Lagoon). For $8 she got to ride every ride as many times as she wanted. There were a couple of other girls that she chummed around with. Since there were hardly any people there, they had their own attendant that followed them to whatever ride the wanted to get on. They also got to ride for pretty much as long as they wanted. She said the horsie carousel was her favorite. My favorite was the bumper cars though. She kept getting stuck on the sides and couldn't get out. It was pretty funny. When we finally got home, McKenzie insisted we read ALL of her books. Since it was her birthday, I read about 5 instead of the usual 2. All in all, I guess the day was pretty good. WE LOVE YOU MCKENZIE CAROL WASEK!!! (Pictures to come, I just have to get them off Ryan's phone. I can't wait til I have my camera charger and can take REAL pictures!)

The one word that she uses more than anything is WHY??? This is the part where patience comes into parenting!!!
After waking up in the morning, she happily says "It's a sunny day!" When we are trying to put her to bed these days, "It's still a sunny day!"
When we walked into Walgreens the other day she said, "There's so much stuff" that meant "What do I want to put in the cart first?"
After taking a walk or playing outside, she'll wipe her brow and say, "I'm sweaty!"
The other day I walked into the living room and Adrie was crushing up a bunch of dried leaves. I asked McKenzie why she gave Adrie leaves off the balcony. Her response was "Mom, it's baby food!"

(Adrie): AAAHHHH
(Me): Kenzie, what did you do to Adrie?
(Z): (in a whisper) SHHH, quit crying Adrie.
(Me): Why is Adrie crying?
(Z): I don't know
